Conceived as a two-part series, defected thematizes and highlights the multiple and changing perspectives we have of our own bodies. The beauty standards viciously imposed by social networks have generated the vain desire to become a living filter, increasing the intensity of body dysmorphia of a whole generation, creating deep malaise, and new behavioural disorders.

Are there spaces of freedom beyond this paradigm, where the body can escape perpetual shame and judgment? Or is our body a mere receptacle of sexual desire, designed and manufactured by ourselves to seduce the other? Are we ultimately just pieces of meat, ready to be consumed and used for predatory purposes, voraciously seeking new procreations?

Defected explores these different tensions and questions, updating a creative field of emancipation and self-acceptance, where emotion prevails over the norms of propriety.
